A highly sensitive and selective formaldehyde sensor is prepared by using mesoporous Ti 0.75 Nb 0.25 N supported Pt NPs as a high efficiency gas sensing electrode material.

Nano-structured ternary niobium titanium nitrides as durable non-carbon supports for oxygen reduction reaction.

A novel, highly stable, non-carbon support system for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) has been discovered in the form of nano-structured (NbxTi1-x)Ns (x = 0.25 and 0.5). Template-free, solid-solid separation synthetic approaches have been used for preparing these materials. The (NbxTi1-x)N materials have high specific surface area and better electronic conductivity than carbon-based supports.

Highly selective and sensitive fluorescent sensing of oxalate in water.

Effective fluorescent sensing of oxalate in water is significant but still remains a challenge. By using indicator-displacement assays, a readily available macrocyclic copper(II) complex was found to show a sensitive off-on fluorescent sensing for oxalate with high selectivity and high binding affinity (>10(7) M(-1)) in water at neutral pH.
